Adolescence Department

TEEN HEALTH RULES AT MTVNHC

The Adolescent Medicine Department is designed to address the physical and psychological needs of young individuals providing quality medical care for ages 12-21. Our well-trained staff of professionals are experienced in addressing the sensitive health needs, issues, questions and concerns of our adolescent patients and their parents.

Under the leadership of the Director of Adolescent Medicine, the department provides valuable health education on important topics relevant to young individuals. Our staff collaborates regularly with local community organizations providing beneficial workshops, seminars, programs and resources available to our adolescent patients and their families.

Urgent Care appointments are available at the Adolescent Medicine Department so that patients may be seen on the same day should they need immediate medical attention. Our staff cares and is available throughout the day to answer questions relating to patient care.

We provide:

  • School, camp and sports physicals
  • Evaluation for painful and irregular periods
  • Acne treatment and other skin conditions
  • Safe sex and abstinence counseling
  • Birth control counseling and prescribing
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Pregnancy testing and options counseling
  • Pap smears and breast exams
  • Weight management and counseling
