The Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center (MVNHC) is a not-for-profit 501C(3) community health center network accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
Over fifty-percent of our more than 105,000 registered patients are underinsured or uninsured entirely.

MVNHC stands firmly behind our core belief that health care is a right to all, not a privilege for some. No individual will be turned away, regardless of ability to pay.

The tremendous need and importance of having access to health care is crucial to the thousands of individuals and families who are in need of medical services. MVNHC offers primary health care services, a broad array of specialty services and behavioral health services.

We serve as an access gateway to social services and intervention programs for those who need them; such as the Community Health Worker Program (CHWP), HIV/AIDS education and case management, homeless support services, WIC (a nutritional support program for pregnant women, newborns and children) and chronic illness management programs for the thousands who live with diabetes and hypertension.

With a theme of “Touching Lives…Lifting Spirits” for the past forty years, MVNHC has worked to serve and educate the community through sponsoring annual health fairs, seminars, workshops, health screenings and community outreach campaigns. We have long established relationships with patients and residents which often spans generations.

However, the challenges of decreased county, state and federal funding remains a daunting reality that we are faced with daily. It is our hope that MVNHC will build and maintain a supporting constituency allowing us to continue our mission to provide access to affordable, comprehensive health care to those seek our services. MVNHC would welcome the partnership and relationship with groups, corporations, families, as well as individuals who would like to join in our mission.

There are a number of ways that you can assist with maintaining the health care services and programs at MVNHC. Your donation not only helps us help others, but impacts the lives of your neighbors and the vitality of your community in a very significant and special way.
